MASSAGE
POTENTIAL STRUCTURE

As there is no precedent at PLS for offering theses services, the following is a suggestion of a possible schedule and remuneration:

Based on a 2 week swing.

BALANCE BREATHING

MASSAGE

IN FIELD:  Blocks of time allocated to various in-field locations offering 15min sessions where clients remain fully clothed (except boots) and receive compression work (pressure applied with open hand) on a massage table.

Due to the short duration and the soft tissue not being warmed up allowing the muscles to soften before deeper work is applied, compression is ideal, as various pressure can be applied without impacting heavily on the therapist.

Ideal for grounded workers e.g. mining operators; or made available during breaks; or allocated time slots.

IN CLINIC/VILLAGE 30 and 50min sessions

For more thorough treatment using a variety of techniques according to state of client and desired outcome.

Discussion of health status and challenges can be held in private. Post treatment care in the form of physical exercises and breath work can be demonstrated.

FACE MASSAGE/BASIC FACIALS (min 30mins for facial)

Not everyone is comfortable with body massage and may find face (and head) treatment an alternative for relaxation therapy.  Face massage can also assist with achy jaws and teeth, and headaches. The face and head can hold a lot of tension however, it is an area that is often neglected when considering treatments.

APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY

Physically, Gee has demonstrated her ability to undertake 30x 50min body massages per 6 day week.  The number of hours available/possible can be increased from that by offering less physically demanding options as well as rehabilitation and relaxation massage. E.g. Face, head, and feet massage, facials, instructing classes.

BALANCED BREATHING

Balanced Breathing can be introduced in a variety of ways:

During massage - basic breathing technique to assist muscles in relaxing

Pre-starts - 2 - 3 techniques (Energise, Relaxation and Drift Categories) 10-15mins

Group classes at the gym - Teaching and practicing techniques:

  1. Energise to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system to prepare for work and/or exercise,

  2. Relaxation to help balance nervous system when stressed; and

  3. Drift to assist in going to sleep and achieving a better quality sleep.

SUSPENDED
YOGA (SY)

1 ON 1 - 50min sessions allows individuals to become confident in using a BBSY Rig, develop more understanding about their body, it’s challenges and how to overcome those challenges with consistent practice in a private setting.  Great for those who are seeking to improve their state of health and fitness or just want to try SY, but lack confidence to do so in a communal setting.

15min classes of up to 12 people - Guided Spinal Stretch - Improving and Maintaining Spinal Health

Balanced breathing is worked in with stretching the entire body with a focus on spinal health through inversion.  Inverting stretches the entire spine and allows dehydrated discs to have a moment to rehydrate.  Essential for all workers to alleviate the force of gravity on their back from activities like sitting all day, being jarred in the driver seat or repetitive movement.

50min classes of up to 12 people - Strength, Mobility, Back Bending, Balance and Inversion, Focus and Concentration

A variety of movements while practicing balanced breathing to address crucial aspects of a healthier physical and mental state.
